Personal Protection Dogs
Mountaineer K-9 Services trains personal protection dogs. Crime is on the rise with break-ins happening on a daily basis. Protection dogs are a great way to deter criminals from breaking in your home. Gun control and strict laws make it difficult to protect yourself. Once you fire a gun you can not take a bullet back. Protection dogs have precision obedience and you will have complete control of the dog with a command word. The dog will alert on command, bite on command and release on command.
MKS is very particular about the dogs that are trained for protection work. We typically select the dog for the family dynamic. Not every dog is suitable for this type of work. Protection dogs are a huge responsibilty and should not be enter into lightly or unadvisedly.
Extensive testing will need to be done. The prey drive, hunt drive as well as a temperament test will need to be done. It typically takes 3 to 5 months to completely train the dog. Your family Protection Dog will be obedience trained on and off leash, your dog will alert, bite, and release on your command.
Evaluation: $25.00
Temperament Test: $75.00
Protection Training: Between $7,000.00 and $15,000.00 plus the cost of the dog

Tracking Dog
Kidnapping, children getting lost or Alzheimer’s family members wandering off - a tracking dog is a valuable addition to your family and community.
Age: 2 months and up
Cost: ranges between $2,000.00 and $3,500.00
Duration: 2 to 3 months
Narcotics Dog
The dog will be trained to indicate 4 narcotics: Marijuana, Meth, Cocaine, and Heroin.
Cost: ranges between $2,000.00 and $3,500.00 plus the cost of the dog
Duration: 2 to 3 months
